   Effects of cyberbullying on learners' academic performance Cyberbullying in schools has devastating effects as it impedes teaching and learning. Learner academic performance is the most affected. Cyberbullying which occurs mostly in secondary schools cause significant emotional, and psychological distress, anxiety, fear, depression and low self-esteem. As such, learners struggle to complete their schoolwork, submit assignments and later on start missing classes.   For those bullied, effects include depression, low self-esteem, sleep and eating disorders, and decreased academic scores, according to StopBullying.gov.
